“Homes with Potential” – An Example in Inverness
Everybody’s got a different idea of the type of modern home they’d like to buy and live in. Sometimes, when I send listings to my clients, it’s because I see a home that has potential to be a very comfortable and beautiful modern home, even if it doesn’t look like it currently.
Here’s an example of one for sale in Inverness right now. Please note this home is not my listing. I’m just using it as an example. It’s been on the market for a while, and to be honest, I’m not sure why somebody hasn’t snapped it up. It’s around 2,600 square feet on the main level, plus another 1,811 square feet of finished space (all of this according to the listing info) in the walkout lower level, has some beautiful stone work, including two stone fireplaces (one on the main level and one downstairs – with a conversation pit!) a third fireplace in the dining area, a sunken living room, vaulted ceilings in several places, it sits on an acre at the end of a cul-de-sac in the Barrington school district, has a 3-car garage and it backs to a pond.
While it’s true that the finishes and fixtures aren’t very modern, they may have been more so in the past (it was built in ’79) and it certainly could be again.
In fact, with some bigger windows in places, updated kitchen, baths, trim and some paint, this could be a wonderful home for somebody.
It’s currently priced at $589,900.
