It’s Modern Home Tour Season!
The colors are changing and the leaves are starting to fall, and along with them, the temperatures. Which means, of course, that it’s modern home tour season. Here are some tours going on in various parts of the country:
New York City’s Archtober (events throughout October)
With hundreds of features and events throughout the month of October, New York’s Archtober has something for everybody. Featured Buildings of the Day, conferences, exhibitions, family events, film screenings, lectures, panel events, tours, workshops and more.

Tuscon Modernism Week (October 4th – 13th)
Home tours, bus tours, walking tours, lectures and exhibitions make this one of the larger events of the season. Many free events and others ranging from $10 – $175.

2019 DC Metro Modern Home Tour (October 5th)
8 homes will be on tour, with tickets ranging from $20 – $50

Salt Lake Modern Homes Tour (October 5th)
Salt Lake’s 2019 tour features homes by architect Stephen MacDonald, in the Cottonwood Club neighborhood. Tickets are $20

2019 San Diego Modern Home Tour (October 12th)
7 (or maybe 8?) homes will be on tour, with tickets ranging from $20 – $50

Minneapolis St. Paul Docomomo Fall Tour Day (October 12th)
On tour this year are nine homes split into morning and afternoon tours, starting at 10am and wrapping up at 3pm. The morning tour will feature four homes in St. Paul, then in the afternoon, guests will see two homes in Minneapolis, two in Golden Valley and one in Minnetonka. Tickets range from $15 – $50.

Palm Springs Modernism Week Fall Preview (October 17th – 20th)
The main event may be in February, but fans of modernism wanting a Palm Springs getaway in the Fall still have some great options during the annual Fall Preview event. From the perpetually popular Charles Phoenix Super Duper Double Decker Bus Tour to celebrity homes to lectures and presentations galore, there are plenty of events to keep your modernist fancy tickled. Palladium Fall Tour | Columbia Modern (November 3rd)
Multiple modern home tours and an after-party will make for a good time for those wanting to experience some of Columbia, South Carolina’s modernist architecture. Tickets range from $25 – $40.

Sarasota Mod Weekend (November 8th – 10th)
A reception celebrating the architecture of Sarasota School architect Frank Folsom Smith kicks off Sarasota’s Mod Weekend this year, with parties, home tours, lectures, walking tours and even trolley tours.
